Nathan McCranie's EMBA Story
“I started my UNM Anderson Executive MBA, EMBA, at the age of 49 but was not the oldest in the 2007 contingent. Our group was diverse, composed of professionals from Medical, Retail, Manufacturing, IT, Finance, Education and the National Labs. This group became and remains a huge resource for learning and includes life-long friends. I believe that the EMBA provides a strong foundation in both business and executive leadership.
"What about the EMBA stands out in my life? My MBA experience opened up a new world of possibilities. By this, I mean, I became aware of the complexity of the human dynamic, and that I could contribute to successful interactions. The EMBA from UNM Anderson has a leadership focus. My experiences made me want to develop my leadership effectiveness and improve outcomes in my work and volunteer experiences. Because of this, I have continued to take classes at Anderson and in other settings. Learning about power and influence, confrontation, negotiation and other softer skills is enriching my life. Besides this, I added business problem techniques to my problem solving toolbox. My EMBA is of great value to me and continues to influence me.”
