    • MBA in Education Leadership
    • UNM is partnering with the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation on a unique and innovative master's degree: an MBA in Education Leadership. This interdisciplinary program between the School of Business and the School of Education combines the best practices in business and education leadership within an educational context.
    • About the Partnership
    • The Woodrow Wilson MBA Fellowship in Education Leadership recruits and prepares outstanding leaders for schools and districts in participating states. The goal: to address the United States' twin educational achievement gaps—the one between the nation's lowest performing and its best schools, as well as the one between the nation's best schools and their top international competitors. The Fellowship seeks both to prepare leaders who can bring all American schools up to world-class levels of performance and to develop a new gold standard for preparing education leaders.

Please send one official transcript from each college, university, and graduate school you attended as a registered student. Each transcript must be enclosed in the registrar's sealed envelope and included in your application package or sent directly to the Executive MBA Program Office. If you earned a degree from the University of New Mexico, we will request your transcript.

Permanent residents with foreign transcripts must provide a transcript evaluation. UNM recommends: National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (http://www.naces.org/) or World Education Services (http://www.wes.org/).

GMAT or GRE Scores

The GMAT and GRE entrance exams are administered computer-adaptive tests, which you can take year-round at a date and time that are convenient for you. Both tests measure general verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills at the level of a high school sophomore.

Change to: The Admissions Committee will accept either the GMAT or the GRE. The Admissions Committee requires a 500 or better on the GMAT, or a GRE score that is deemed to be greater than or equivalent to 500 on the GMAT using a conversion tool available at: http://www.ets.org/gre/institutions/about/mba/comparison_tool/.

Once you complete the test, your scores will be shown to you. Please record your scores and submit them to us. These will qualify as your "unofficial" scores. While you will need to submit your official scores to be officially admitted, your unofficial scores allow us to expedite the interview process. The school designation code is 4845 for either exam.  Please do not indicate a specific program for your scores to be sent to; only use the UNM school code (4845). Test scores are valid for five years.

Information about the test, registration, and practice tests are available at:

The entrance exam requirement may be waived if the applicant meets at least one of the following conditions:

  • Ph.D. in any field
  • A Master's Degree with substantial quantitative coursework
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business from an AACSB accredited institution with a GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale in all upper level courses (300-level or above).

For more information on preparing for either exam, visit our test prep page!

Once your application is complete, you will be required to interview with the Admissions Committee. The interview is an important part of the application process. It is your opportunity to discuss in more detail your qualifications and the value you will bring to the EMBA Program. You should receive notification of the admission decision within two weeks after your interview is completed.
